  5. First: The Copyright Bits
  6. -------------------------

  8. This is a game written using V1.300 of Trellis - the adventure
  9. interpreter from Soft Rock Software. As yet, V1.300 has not
  10. been released.
  11.  
  12. Both Trellis and !Pyramid are (c)copyright 1991-1996 Soft Rock
  13. Software. However, !Pyramid itself may be distributed in the
  14. manner of public domain software provided it is not altered or
  15. tampered with in any way. It is made available in this way to
  16. provide a demonstration of what can be done using the latest
  17. version of Trellis.

  20. Playing !Pyramid
  21. ----------------

  23. The game is a fairly straightforward text/graphic adventure.
  24.  
  25. When first loaded, you are presented with a simple title
  26. screen. Press <Space> to move onto the game.
  27.  
  28. In this game, you are imprisoned inside a pyramid, and must
  29. find out how to escape. As I said - its straightforward :-)
  30.  
  31. You play the game by entering simple one or two word commands
  32. such as NORTH or TAKE DIAMOND. In some cases you may need to
  33. type in longer sentences, such as PUT DIAMOND ON PEDESTAL.

  35. You can't use abbreviations, and you can't enter more than
  36. one command at a time.

  38. Help is available through th use of the HELP command. If you
  39. want help about a specific object, you can try HELP OBJECT
  40. (eg HELP DIAMOND). The software will only give help on an
  41. object you can see.

  44. Trellis
  45. -------
  46.  
  47. Trellis version 1.300 is not yet available. There are still
  48. a couple of minor bugs to iron out, and some things I want
  49. to improve. It'll probably become V1.310 before it is
  50. released.

  52. The currently available version is 1.210, which uses draw
  53. files for graphics. This version costs 8.99 including
  54. postage and can be ordered from:-
